Puebla was founded in 1531 and is today the fourth largest and most important city in Mexico. We are Patrimony for the following reasons:
Our Historical Center is Cataloged as CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY since 1987. The Palafoxiana Library is MEMORY OF THE WORLD since 2005, with more than 41,000 printed volumes and a collection of manuscripts. The process of ELABORATION OF THE TALAVERA is Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2019.
The gastronomy of Puebla is Intangible Heritage of Humanity thanks to the fact that UNESCO recognizes the Mole Poblano and the Chile en Nogada as part of the culinary art of Mexico.
The Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Valley: native habitat of Mesoamerica has been included in the World Heritage List as a mixed site since 2018. The city is surrounded by the highest volcanoes in Mexico: Citlaltépetl, Popocatépetl, Iztaccihuatl and Malinche. It has the tallest Cathedral in Latin America, as well as one of the highest expressions of Baroque art: La Capilla del Rosario, considered the eighth wonder of the world of its time. Today, it is a destination for all tastes. We have 10 magical towns, one of them is Cholula, which has the largest pyramid in the world at its base, as well as Zacatlán, Chignahuapan, Cuetzalan, Atlixco, Tlatlauquitepec, Xicotepec, Pahuatlan, Huauchinango and Tetela de Ocampo.
Beyond the city is AFRICAM SAFARI, which is the largest wildlife conservation center in Latin America, where animals live as in their natural habitat.
